To the Saints of St. Peter’s Lutheran, Northfield, MN:
Grace to you and peace from God who in Jesus Christ makes all things new.
Grateful to God and to you, I humbly accept God’s call to serve you as your pastor. Confident that the Holy Spirit has been at work in our lives, I look forward to the journey of faith that lies ahead of us. I am anxious to begin a new chapter of ministry—a new adventure of faith—as your pastor. My wife, Michon, and I are eager to be a part of the St. Peter’s, and Northfield communities.
It has been a joy to meet with your Call Committee and some members of the Church Council to talk about the mission God has set before St. Peter’s Lutheran. I had the pleasure of visiting with your fine staff last Monday, and I look forward to joining your ministry team. I am also anxious to learn more of your long and rich history of serving the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and to discern together where God is leading St. Peter’s Lutheran in the future.
I look forward to meeting each and everyone of you. If you’re interested in getting a head start, I am on Facebook. Invite me to be your Friend and we can learn a little about each other before I get there. https://www.facebook.com/davidarthurweeks
In the coming weeks, you will need to say your farewells to your interim pastor, Janet White, who has faithfully loved and served you, and I will need to say farewell to a community that has loved and cared for my family and me. Trusting that I am in your prayers, I hold you in my prayers as well. Thanks be to the Holy Spirit which calls, gathers, enlightens, and sanctifies us as the body of Christ. May God be with us as we together follow Jesus Christ announcing that in Jesus God is making all things new.
In Christ’s service,
Pastor David Weeks
